So George approved the fence. A 700 mile fence between us and Mexico to keep out illegals.

Illegals who, somehow, are going to brave an often long, arduous and dangerous trip of hundreds or thousands of miles using money they barely can spare to get TO the border, and then, upon seeing that there is now a chain link fence in place, they will turn around and go home.

The government always puts out projects to the lowest bidder. Who does he think is going to wind up putting up the fence, anyway?

The sheer anger at the government keeps me in a near constant state of personal deadlock. I don't know whether to lament the state of politics where the population either buys into this shit, or doesn't care enough, or to fear the notion that our fucking president is so idiotic that he may believe that this will work. If he doesn't, he wants everyone else to believe he does. Think about THAT.

Iraq is a criminal quagmire, based on lies and costing thousands of lives and billions of dollars. North Korea has the bomb. Iran will in 5 years. Oil dependence is no better and the best answer we have is "the American way of life is not negotiable" and "the solution is ethenol" from corn. Guess what. The former is folly and the latter is lunacy. Neither is sound, or sustainable. We are saying that we will kill others for our oil (some already think we are, but I disagree), and we will grow ourselves free.

I am going to start six topics here so I don't want to meander any longer than I already have. Look at it this way, though. Look at what has happened to the country in the past 8 years, concentrating hardest on the last 4. This is the result of control by the people who impeached Clinton for lying about a blowjob. Based on that scale, Bush should be executed, Cheney should be tortured and executed, and Rove should be water-boarded and released naked in the Afghan highlands.

Colin Powell, the most level-headed member of national government in this century, said fuck this and skated. He could have been president if he wanted. Really. He looked at the type that gets the job and realized he was better than that. We are left with the wing-nut neocons and degenerate billionaires ruling for a lark.

I have about had it with the present political process. I don't want debates or issue policy statements. I want an IQ test and a psychological profile. If that were required for presidency we'd weed out a lot of the scarier ones, and would lose ALL of the current ones. Most people wouldn't have Bush and cadre watch their house while on vacation, yet they are running the asylum, and DO mean that most literally.
