It's peak time for the shrill pitch of the political silly season, with the studious, issue driven debate slowly winding into "I know you are but what am I..." being bandied about between the two candidates.

However, Dubya sprung a gem today.

Responding to the Kerry accusations of the missing 380 tons of explosives in Iraq:

"A political candidate who jumps to conclusions without knowing the facts is not a person you want as your commander in chief," Bush told more than 17,000 supporters at an airport rally...

Good thing he performed his due diligence on that whole Iraq thing, eh? I'd hate to have rushed into that one.

Good thing we won, too.

My car cost under $32 to fill the other day and I was thrilled. If we did go to war for oil, fine. Where the hell is it?

How's that tax break going for the rest of you, anyway? Rich yet? My check must have been lost in the mail. Maybe it got mixed in with the Florida absentee ballots.
